    well that was a very interesting documentary.

    I had no idea she led such a “secretive” life photographyically speaking.
    Her images are stunning and a sad life story in a way but I suppose she
    was happy doing what she was doing, was there a master plan there?
    In life she was pretty much unknown but now she is very much famous. . .

    I enjoyed the programme as there was a lot more of her work shown. The film on in the IFI was also very informative and was made by the guy who refused to talk to the TV programme makers. It’s hard to figure out what exactly was driving her to take the photos and it seems she would not have welcomed the fame if she had been discovered. She is in some ways a bit like Vincent van Gogh in that fame came only after she had died.

    As her reputation grows, her relatives start to appear and people to represent them smell money start to gather.

    Ya I don’t know if they can really have a real claim to make. Her images were sold legally to clear whatever was owed on the storage locker(s) and therefore I’d assume will sit with the purchasers. Where were the relatives up to this point I wonder.
