Wanted: Leica 50mm f2 **Acquired**

damien.murphyParticipant
Looking for a 50mm Summicron (to pair with an M6), if you have one thats surplus to your requirements.
Finances probably preclude me from the more recent iterations of this lens,
Damien
FintanParticipantWhats your budget? Theres one for 500 euro on the rangefinder forum, guy is in Paris I think.
damien.murphyParticipantFintanParticipantdamien.murphyParticipantCool, hadn’t come across that forum – thanks for the spot Fintan, will check it out,

Well good luck and don’t get too fond of the RFF coz we need you over here on PI :P
damien.murphyParticipantLol.. I hope not, I’m trying to wean myself off camera equipment acquisition syndrome :)
Damien
damien.murphyParticipantNo longer looking – a copy of the above is currently winging its way to me from Paris.
Many thanks for the sharp eyes Fintan, and keeping me in mind,
Damien
FintanParticipantExpresbroParticipantdamien.murphyParticipant..well, it’s curently en-route and have fingers crossed it will arrive before the weekend!
Just need to learn how to develop film then, so will be keeping an eye for your posts and your developing experiences
This film stuff is pretty addictive I think.. at least coming from an all digital background – I even found out you can develop with Cafenol (a mix of water, instant coffee, and baking powder)! I won’t go too much more here about that, as I’m getting off-topic, and fear I’m inspiring tears in Leica afficionado’s, even considering developing with coffee!
Damien
ExpresbroParticipantHehe!! Yeah Damien, I’ve heard the same..someone mentioned Orange Juice as a developer as well..crazy stuff.
I’ll be happy to just learn to do it with proper developer, Stop and Fixer.
Oh and you’re right, it is addictive.
:D
damien.murphyParticipantLol.. the crazier stuff has me intrigued now.. I have a pinhole camera at home begging to be assembled and used, so may give the images from that a crack with the crazier developers out there!
I have yet to pick up the required developing bits & pieces, and once I have, I see the beginnings of a future thread on the film forum here :)
Damien
GizzoParticipantspeaking of which, Robbie, do you think we waited enough?
with me and you, that order can take ages before being ready :D :D :D(King and Earl of procrastination…)
hughParticipantDamien … I just recently acquired the exact same lens and camera. My advice to you is to ban yourself from that Rangefinder forum that Fintan pointed you towards. You will very quickly convince yourself that you need a 35mm lens to complement the 50mm. Or maybe something even wider like a 21mm. And an extra body would be handy so you can shoot colour and b&w at the same time. And something else … It is truly a financial black hole that the unwary can fall into and never return from …
