Not a book, but a DVD, entitled ‘War Photographer’ about the life and work of war photographer James Nachtwey. This DVD is simply brilliant. It gives the best insight into a photographers mind…how he works, goes about working and delivering the goods. It’s not glamourous, and doesn’t big up Nachtwey…it’s a serious documentary, and at times hard to watch. But is utterly compelling and a brilliant piece of film making…right down to the micro camera attached to his Canon Eos 1n.
I can’t recommend this enough…whether you’re a photographer, or have an interest in photography, this is something you should watch.

The DVD is hard to come by, and is only available in Region 1 version. Ebay is your best bet which is where I picked it up for ?25.

seen this advertised a while ago and would love to see it, as you said its a region 1 dvd but sometimes on ebay you can get hold of Region 0 which works out better if you dont have a multi region dvd player

I have the national Geographic DVD The Photographers which is an oldie but still watch it from time to time. Ill keep an eye on the War Photographer one.
