Waterford March 2009 ( 6 shot photo essay )

Waterford March from about 2 weeks ago. March was over a mile long and then most came back to the Glen to hear the talks.
Shot on Film iso 400 – printed in a very darkroom ;) and prints scanned using a flatbed scanner + slight touch ups after the scaning.
Have a few more drying at the moment. Quiet enough protest then from the one last year at the crystal. I think everyone has come to a certain understanding that we are all fucked.
MartinOCParticipantThese are interesting to see, thanks for posting.
The quality of the pictures is poor, I guess from scanning from the prints instead of from negs, but it does give a nice dated look to the set.
And the clock seems to have turned back to the 80’s in Ireland. The last 15 years have been such a roller-coaster ride for the country.

Yes the scanner used was quiet shit, if you look closley you can see the dust from the scanner bed and streaks after scanning in the prints, i did touch them up a bit but i didnt want to go too mad for perfection as its not about the quality of the scanned image as i really couldnt give 2 fucks, its more about the story in the essay and the general idea of what the prints look like.
Cheers man for taking the time to comment.
randomwayMemberI like the one with the kids, second last picture. It reminds me on the Banksy graffitis for some reason.
grif04ParticipantThanks randomway, that image actually is one i had alot of trouble printing with, and am not really using it in the final series for that reason because of the extreme backlighting but i bought that one into photoshop and dodged it better then i could do in the darkroom – i must give it another go in there. suppose im just using it because of the obvious irony in it all.
Thanks again lad.
steelydanParticipantI like the first one best, the angle is nice and you dont need the talker to be upright ,as you know what the photo is about. The main focal point is the poster anyways. Did you not get any shots of me behind the T.E.E.U flags
