Watermark / Signature using CS5

Just wondering what’s the fastest / simplest way of adding a watermark / signature using CS5.
Thanks.
Dave.5faytheParticipantHi Dave,
I use a watermark that consists of my name, year and the copyright symbol.
I created a new file with a transparent background.
I choose a colour and font and type the info on to the file and saved it as a PSD.When I have an image that I want to add the watermark to I do the following.
I open my watermark file.
I drag the watermark into the image using the move tool and close the watermark file. (I now have 2 layers.)
I resize the watermark to suit and move it to where I want it within the image.
I create a duplicate of the background layer.
I drag the Background Copy up so that the Text Layer is in the middle. (The watermark disappears….Don’t worry it’ll be back :) )
I create a clipping mask by hovering the cursor over the line between the Background Copy and the Text Layer, holding the Alt key and clicking the left mouse button. (The watermark reappears)
Flatten the layers.I like this because the signature/watermark is kinda embossed into the image.
You only have to do the watermark once.BTW I use PSE8 and a PC.
I hope this is of some use.
All the best,
John.SeaviewParticipantThanks John, that’s very helpful. Can you tell me how you input the copyright symbol.
Dave.
5faytheParticipantHi Dave,
I thought that might come up as I remember having a little trouble finding how to do it. :?
I do remember that typing the code didn’t work for some reason. EDIT Seemingly Alt 0169 will work if you have a numeric keypad.
I’ll find out and come back to you or maybe another kind member will help.Cheers,
John.

Hi Dave,
Here goes :)
START
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
Character Map
Select & Copy the © symbol
Paste it into the line of text in your Watermark documentI hope that works for you. :?
Cheers,
John.
SeaviewParticipantThat’s excellent John, it was the symbol that was catching me. The code wouldn’t work for me as I didn’t have numeric pad. I came a cross a method using the brush tool, I’ll post it on here at the weekend.
Dave.
cathaldParticipantI made up my copyright name etc logo and saved it as a brush so then i can just click once onto the photo to put my copyright on
SeaviewParticipantcathaldParticipantI’ve no photoshop at work but I think once you have you logo goto edit > define brush and then name it
