Hi ! I am thinking about buying a Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens and i have found a website called
http://www.magnusireland.com/ where they sell cameras too cheap to be true…Has anyone ever bought anything from them?

Looks to good to be true to me.
Money order only. No proper eCommerce functionality. No catalogue. It doesn’t look at all kosha.

Exactly….very strange…they must be something like http://www.fastslr.com , webshops that pretend to sell expensive electronics and photographic equipment at prices too good to be true…
The scam goes like this: They advertise expensive items for sale through what looks like a regular webshop. What distinguishes the scammers from other operators is that the only means of payment is an untraceable and unrecoverable method, such as wire transfer (e.g. MoneyGram, Western Union), E-Gold or direct bank transfer. Some variations of this scam display credit card emblems and list credit cards as a payment option, but if you go through the motions, you either end up with an error message (claiming that payment by credit card is temporarily unavailable), or a hi-jacked checkout page belonging to an e-commerce provider with lax security (e.g. WorldPay).
What a pitty…I am dreaming of a Nikon d80…:-) for that price i could buy it right away :-(((

    yeah looks way to dodgy,

i have seen deals like this in the buy and sell
    and on gumtree,

once i did a bit of digging asking about security i never
heard back from them again, most of them want to use western union
which is a big no no.

it has there address why not mail them and see if you
    can call into there office

If a shop here is cheaper than the online shops in Hong Kong, then they are definately dodgy. Forget about it!
