Wedding Charge
-
Keith gParticipant
Sorry all if this agian is repeated, but I have been booked to do a wedding next summer for a friend of a friend. I’ve showed them some of my previous wedding shots, but this one will be my first one whereby I actually get paid :P
Taking into account the selection of a wedding album which I will supply also (It will cost me roughly anything between €100-€300), can any of you tell me a rough guide price?
I hope I did’nt bore some of you to sleep
Thanks againKeith..
stcstcMemberis the price you quoted just for the album itself and not the prints inside of it yea?
Keith gParticipantEverything included Steve, prints inside and all, I know it’s a difficult one to give an estimate, but what would be say a ‘standard’ charge for a days outing?
Thanks,
Keith..
stcstcMemberthat cost doesnt seem enough for the album
and its not just one day for a wedding, allow 3, meeting them, seeing the venue, processing and the actual day
Keith gParticipantYeah, a lot to consider alright Steve, So a ‘standard’ album may cost more then? What would you charge for that alone may iI ask? (hope you don’t mind)
Thanks,
Keith..
stcstcMemberwell i print them for photographers
for a 50 image album you are talking about me charging the photographer about 425/450 upwars
damiendParticipantKeith I would be worried that you think its only one day, its far from that once you agree to do it they will want blood from you, meeting them , the venue visit what they actually want in their album then all the processing, and then meeting them to pick the ones going into the album, taking the photos is the easy part, you might get an album for around 30 images for 300/ 350 printing photos extra for the whole day and time put in you would be looking at no less than 1,000 depending on your skill level, alot of photographers charge way above this Good Luck……
MadeleineCalaidoWeberParticipantprof wedding photographers charge between 1200-3500 for one wedding
included is a final amount of images of 60-100 shots and an album with prints 20-30.
that is very ruff calculation. Please don’t think small because you will be VERY busy to take images of the whole day, to sort them out, processing, printing, photobook.Ask them if they have a budget. Wedding photography is a expenisv charged business and people pay because of the individual importance of weddings
Regarding my answer, i expect that you are not a freeby photographer who just sells a bougth photo album to your client (;
Good luckmarkcapilitanParticipanttaking the photos is the easy part
That’s a bit of an exaggeration me thinks – I’ve never met any good wedding photographer that describes the picture taking as the easy part. Yes, the business/album part takes time and effort, but that area is fully 100% under your control, the taking of the pictures for the majority of the day is out of your control – weather, lighting, peoples moods all out of your hands!
As for a rough guide – charge what you think your time if worth on the day + time it takes to process images + time it takes to design and put together album + actual cost of album/prints. That’s a start…
Keith gParticipantThanks so much for your comments all, my eyes are now open thanks to you, but I’m looking forward to it all the same :D

So you agree with me then :D when very thing else is taken care of moods people lighting weather meetings arrangment of photos into the album making sure the bride is happy the groom is happy mum and dads are happy all you equipment is working and in first class cond, very angle covered that the taking the photo is the easy part, as one would think that a person shooting a wedding has a high level of skill in the photo taking department ..its all the other stuff that gets people in a tizzy.. Id go even further and say if all you can do is take a photo and fall short in the people skills area then maybe wedding photography is not for you
