I covered a friend of my fiancee’s wedding recently for a favour. Wow, it is a big reponsability, quite tough and a long day!
I tried to prepare as best I could. This is my personal favourite from the day taken after the first dance. I love the persective of 50mm.5d MKII

Good pic!
I like the processing but the burnt out highlights on the child’s face are distracting.Also I think it would be great pic with the child as the subject .. the expression on her face is great but the guy in the background it to prominent for me. For me a crop and darken down the background slightly and you have great pic ……just my opinion

I share Gaffo’s opinion – although the guy is soft focused and somehow an element of your composition he is distracting.
We always have to bear in mind why we take a picture, in this case I guess the child, and focus on it. But on the spot it is not always that easy.
Anyway you made a job catching an happy moment and, at the end of the day, it’s all about that.
I really like the shot. I take it that’s the groom in the background & his bride & daughter in the foreground? Nice loose feel to the action and like the story in the image. I can’t see how an important part of a photograph could be considered a distraction?
Only criticism would be the slight overexposure – but even still doesn’t bother me much.
Ok here is a version with some recovered highlights and darker background. Yes your’e right Eric it is the bride and groom and their daughter in the photo. Their son is also on the grooms shoulders but the view of this is blocked.

Yes it is a lovely photojournalistic shot, I dissagree with comments about distractions, there are none!
All the elements play a role, sometimes people search for distractions on instinct when they are none!
