Wedding themed shoot (56k meh!)

gerardkParticipant
Here are some shots from a shoot at randalstown on saturday for c & c – I havent processed them all yet.
The tri-portrait one was taken between fits of giggles. The skin smoothing of some is possibly overboard for normal use but it was intentional for this lot.

Thanks for checking and commenting – there are others at my flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/gerardkenny/ if anyone has some freetime to check.
MikeanywhereParticipantfstop89564Participantvery nice i like 1 & 2 the best……….nothing wrong with the others
those just stick out to meMadra RuaParticipantI take it the lady in the first two shots did not actually get married?
Any chance you got her phone number? :lol:steelydanParticipantvery sharp images and well done on the processing I think they are all excellent
AllinthemindParticipantMy personla prefernce would be to ave a grey background to allow the dresses to rweally stand forward, I think the white backgrounds detract from the dresses.

I think Si must be referring to the three brides-
I like the idea of a white background,
but obviously it has to be handled very carefully, and its extremely difficult-Here, I think the power on the background light has been dialed up too far,
and the main light is off by not very much under-Unless that’s what Si means about a grey background-
The carrie bw one would be the most striking for me-
j
AllinthemindParticipantYes JB, sorry, I wrote that in a hurry last night, as can be seen from the typos. If the background was slightly darker than the dresses, the “shine” from the dresses would have come forward and been more impactful.. IMO :) Although I do have a preference for darker backgrounds with wedding dresses anyway, so it may just be my personal preference, it would be interesting to see what a target audience thought, they seem to like the “Venture” style of blown backgrounds.
Si
gerardkParticipantThanks all for commenting – (I think the white background ones probably were overlit).
ExpresbroParticipantStand out shot for me is No.2. Love the lighting, although it does look a little blown on the models right hand side. But over all is a lovely atmospheric shot.
AliParticipantNot really sure of your motivation behind taking these shots, they just seem to be lost somewhere in between people shots and fashion. Really like #2 and #4, both shots capture a mood, the expressions in the rest just make them seem like snapshots.
GrahamBParticipantIt seems to me the 2,3 and 4 are out of place given the wedding title of the post.
I like number two but i reckon it should be in post on it’s own.I’d also tend to agree with a previous comment on the background colour.
The white is way too strong in the first and last ones and takes away from the dresses.Just my humble opinion though
gerardkParticipantRobMemberSnapshots?
I wish I could take snapshots like these…For me, numbers 1, 2, 3, and 6 are all marvellous,
with my vote torn between 2 and 3 for the top spot.
I quite like the white background for the three brides
and don’t think it detracts at all from the image.
The tri-portrait does nothing for me at all, sorry to say,
as I find it too tight and almost cluttered looking.
Great set.Rob.
LucParticipantI like very much the first one.
The second one has a very nice light, but IMO I find the background distracting and it is a little too centred.
Very good shots overall !
