You’re a star! :D Thank you ever so much! :)
Looking forward to this a lot now…
(not had anyone say they’re doing the Ross thing… so try and let me know – if no-one comes that’s alright, I always do Ross on a Sunday anyway!)
Oooh… and not meaning to tempt fate, what do we do if it’s raining as it has been the last few days? A spot of light rain I don’t mind… but it’s been torrential here!
xx
AedanCParticipantHi Laura,
I didn’t reply about Sunday because I’m not 100% sure if I can make it. Still hoping though.
See you all tomorrow,
Aedan
glassworksParticipanthi everyone
i see you’re visiting W Cork this weekend. I probably won’t make Glengarrif but might tag along for the Sunday session in Ross. Anyone want a spin from Skibb just drop me a line
The An Post Cycle race passes thru Skibb on Sunday (dont know if this was already mentioned) and goes to Cork via Ross, so roads will be closed i suppose.
The Clonakilty Camera club has its annual exhibition in the Celtic Ross Hotel.
Look forward to meeting you all. What time will you be in Ross?
Baby Hannah’s is a good pub as is The Corner Bar just opposite on Bridge Street ( Trad music taken v seriously with lots of “cunas” (sic))

TompixBandonMemberHi Laura,
I’m not sure what went wrong but I didn’t have a clear plan of what was happening (I guess I should also have someone’s mobile number!).
I arrived at the pier in Glengarriffe about 11.15 and inquired if a group of photo peopel with tripods had already taken the ferry to Garnish Island. I was told ‘no’. So I said maybe they’re late after a good nite out in Skibb.! So I hung around for a while. After an hour and 20 mins I headed up through the village and went for a bite of lunch. When I walked around afterwards I discovered another sign for a ferry to the island – from a different pier which I hadn’t known about!
I only assume at this point that ye crossed using this one? Of course, I had no way of contacting anyone!
I’m sorry to have missed it.Regrettably, I can’t make it to Ross tomorrow but do pass on my regards to everyone, please.
Best wishes.
ZoundzMember:( :( :( oh no! That’s awful – for what it’s worth you were missed – we wondered about you throughout the day.
We can’t for a little bit, but at some point, if you fancy going out there again, we’d love to – it was so nice – and we’d love another visit – so if you’re up for it, do let me know! :)
I think phone number exchange is important in future – as it’s so easy for things to go wrong! :? I didn’t have a number for anyone either and I was panic stricken that something would go wrong!
xx
Harry ReidParticipantThanks for the schedule Tom. Sorry you missed us, can’t have been by much. We left using the ferry from the end of town nearest Casey’s Hotel shortly after 11am I think. On returning on the 1.30 ferry, we had lunch in Caseys before heading to the National Park. Overall, a good day, nice folk in the group. 3 of you from Bandon alone! Pity you can’t make Ross in the morning, although it’s due to be wet. Weather permitting, I hope to arrive in Ross before 10am to have a recce before the Race comes through. For future reference, my mobile is 087 8138330.
Go Well.
Harry R.TompixBandonMemberHi Harry,
Many thanks.
Indeed it looks like I just missed ye! I was at the ferry near the Eccles but I had lunch in Casey’s and left about 1.30
I hope you get a few shots in Ross tomorrow.Regards.
Tom.ZoundzMemberUnfortunately it looks like Rosscarbery might be a bit of a washout today as it’s been raingin all night and is still raingin on and off now, with no sign to it clearing up anytime soon. I know nearly everybody i spoke to who was thinking of coming to Ross said it would depend on it not raining and by the seems of things no-one is really turning up. If anyone knows contact details for anyone still down around this area it might be worth letting them know that theres probably not going to be anything happening.
Sorry about this guys
Laura
xxAedanCParticipantI’m one of the ones who is going to cry off, it’s also been raining hard here in Baltimore all night and most of this morning with poor visibility as well. I’m going to spend the day packing up to go back to Kilkenny ;-(
It was great to meet you all yesterday, sorry today wid not work out.
