West Cork PI Trip

kenhParticipant
OK, since Dee has mentioned the weekend of August 22/23, how about that as a date to aim for.
If we can get enough agreements to this, or another date, we can start on the detail.
ALL THOSE IN FAVOUR OF THIS DATE, SAY AYE!!
MarkKeymasterAye :)
For those in West Cork without transport, if the gathering was down in West Cork,
I’m sure that we could easily arrange lifts for folk nearer the time.PaddysnapperParticipantDeeboParticipantI will opt in nearer the date, still waiting for my plans to be firmed up but I guess a date set is best for everyone to work too

climberhuntParticipantI might be able to make it down from Limerick, and I could probably grab a few other members to bring with me… :)

OK, let’s start with trying to identify a suitable venue – any suggestions ? Laura, you may have some specific ones in mind?
I’d have two suggestions – The Gearagh near Macroom, or Glengariff Nature reserve – have been to both and they are very beautiful,
especially Glen.starting suggestions
ZoundzMemberI made a couple of suggestions underneath, but I don’t know if any would be feasable? I’ll have a hunt around for the next few weeks, see if I can find anywhere a bit different :) I’m pretty good at exploring and finding some lovely places! :D

Thanks Laura, a local perspective is most likely to find the best place. Suggest we collect all the suggestions over the next couple of weeks, and then
put it to a vote!ALL suggestions welcome.
Cheers
121FOTOParticipantI’m in too and I know a couple of more people interested. I can organize lifts for those living near Cork City.
kenhParticipantOK folks, to make a firm suggestion, the following:
Daylong visit to the Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve, http://www.npws.ie/en/NatureReserves/Cork/GlengarriffWood/
to include a boat trip to Garnish island http://www.cork-guide.ie/garnish.htm (20mins duration).Destination is about 100min drive from Cork city, and both attractions are just 1k outside the town.
August 22 is the date, and we should meet in the car park of the reserve (maps later) at 10am
So we need to do the following:
1. Confirm interest for date and destination.
2. If transport needed, please state from where (there will be plenty of seats available)
3. Make some suggestions as to the “apres photo” activities.ALL THOSE IN FAVOUR SAY AYE!! :D
