Aside from the Murphys, any of a large number of English Ales.
Hen’s Tooth, Speckled Hen, Spitfire, Bishop’s Finger, 1698 and on and on… :)

Will sample the Belfast Lager sometime I hope. A Belfast city trip is a must for 2010 !

A man after my own heart. London Pride is the one I’m on at the moment.

Its just a shame you can’t get it on tap in Ireland. Spitfire from the keg is so much better than the bottled stuff

As for lagers, I take the odd Budvar and I’m partial to a bottle of Desperados after a meal.

Mainly Smithwicks in the pub though

The best beers for me are Paulaner and Erdinger. And the cheap Beer D’Or sh1t they sell in Tesco – 20 bottles for 9 euros-ish.

I’m going to Belgium in week or two and plan on doing a lot of sampling of the local lagers. mmmmmmmmm……

Some great beers brewed in Belgium – 7% – by the Jesuits!

Kasteel bier (castle beer) from Limburg Holland the piece in between Germany and Belgium. In the south. 12%

Reminds me of the Cork man who found a lamp, rubbed it and was offered 3 wishes by the resident Genie..

For his first wish, he asked for a pint glass of Murphy’s that would never empty.

The Genie granted his wish, a full glass appeared, the Cork man emptied and watched in amazement as the glass filled up again .

“So, what do you want for your remaining 2 wishes?” asked the Genie.

“I’ll have another 2 of these!” was the reply.

My favourite would be Gin and Tonic, the best is with Bombay Sapphire and loads of ice and lime wedges. But you can’t beat a really good Mojito, if you can stand all the hassle to make them. I do really miss proper real ale from the UK though, some of them are fantastic. Smithwick’s just doesn’t cut it!

I was in Germany & Austria a few weeks ago on a business trip & normally when I get back from such trips I run down to the local store and pick up beers from the region. So right now my fridge is stocked with Erdinger Dunkel and Hofbrau Dunkel.

But usually, I like the US west coast ales such as Speakeasy Prohibition Ale, Rogue Dead Guy Ale, Bridgeport Pale Ale, or the staple of California, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Every so often, I’ll splash out on Samuel Smith’s Pale Ale but it is kind of expensive over here.

Weiss beer – great taste and great for burps

Sam Adams is about the only North American beer I like – but I haven’t come across the ones you listed …

hmm…. beers mostly, and it varies, however im quite loyal to good ole “Dutch Gold”, a taste which has stuck from my younger days haha. Carlsberg when im out. Im with Jody on the Desperados which are absolutely delish but hard to come by, and often over priced !!
