I’m giving up anything made of potatoes.
Did it twice before, its bloody hard
I’m not in any way religious though
Crisps and such like I can do without, not a big fan of Pringles, etc, etc, but I do like my fish and chips on a Friday. Fish on a friday?… does that give me some sort of a saving grace? No I can’t give up the friday indulgence supplemented with a bottle of plonk. Yeh, I know, fish and chips with a bottle of wine, strange association and it’s usually a red wine at that. Live dangerously I say. I’d probably consider giving up the drink for Lent but I’m not a beer or spirit drinker, it’s usually only the odd bottle of wine at the weekend (three is an ‘odd’ number) and I still have all my Christmas presents to decant (my friends know my tastes).
Seriously though, I must find something to give up as my kids have me under pressure and we have a Confirmation coming up in two weeks so things are a little holier than usual. HELP!!!BMParticipantthedarkroom wrote:

Dad to Kids: I’m giving up beating you lot twice a day.
Kids: But dad, you don’t do that and anyway it has to be somrething that you enjoy.
Dad: I could start – and I WOULD enjoy it.
Kids: Silence
DeeboParticipantTrying to stay off the booze.
Might do the whole reversal of lent on go on stuff, like religion :-)aoluainParticipanttalking about the recession,

Good luck with it though guys!I’m an atheist Tebbi, but giving up something anyway. Having being brought up a Catholic, Lent is a mental thing in the back of my mind. If I tried to give up potatoes for, say, september… it wouldn’t work….but it will work for lent.
I’m certainly not doing it for any religious reasons
randomwayMemberI have been off photography for three days now… tough going. I can’t imagine how will I make it for 40 days… I feel like giving up, and taking a picture.. just one quick snapshot.
People, don’t try this at home!
MDCPhotographyParticipantNot actually off anything but the wifey has made me eat at least one piece of fruit per day, oh and also to start making my equipment pay for itself lol
