What bag for laptop and 1 slr/lens ??

I’m looking for a nice trendy litte saddle bag or rucsack for a laptop and a camera.

The laptop is a 17″ dell monster but I hope to get a 15″ macbook pro in a couple of months. So ideally I’d like it to be as small as possible but to be able to squeeze in the 17″ for the mo and take the new one neatly later on.

The camera will either be a toy camera, or a 5d/24-105, or a polaroid camera or a mf camera/std lens.

This will be for every day use so the lighter and smaller the better.

    Any recomendations???

I used to have the Lowepro Compu Treker Day Pack.
Held my IBM T43 and my Canon 350d. I think they
have then in Gunns, they’ll let you throw all your gear into
it first to see if it fits before you buy.
    I think it’s around ?70

This is probably far too big for what you are looking for but I think its the only one that fits a laptop in the Lowepro range.

I don?t know what are the features you are looking for (apart from space for laptop and a camera), but with so many models out there, I am sure you will find one ideal for your particular type of use.

I was looking for a bag that can hold my laptop, camera with a few bits and bobs as well as the laptops charger, phone etc too. I did a bit of research and in the end I bought a Lowepro Compudaypack. It has three compartments ? Laptop compartment fits a 14 inch Dell D620 (plenty more room for another laptop, or notebooks, magazines etc) ? I think it will fit up to 15inch ? not sure about 17 though. The camera compartment comfortable fits 400D with kit lens on, 50mm 1.8, biggish Sigma 70-300 APO as well as spare batteries, cables etc ? there?s still enough room for another lens or two. The third compartment is very spacious too ? perfect for airport shopping! Its relatively cheaper than other camera bags ? 89 euros.

Cons: Fully loaded, its really heavy, good if you have a strong back. It also is slightly on the large side for everyday use.

Now, if you really have time to do your research, and really want to see what the pros are using (and serious lens p*rn), check out this link.

I’ve other bags for carrying all my gear I just want this one for everyday use. I have 2 chargers for the laptop, one at home one at work, so I wont be carrying it. I just want space for the bare minimum as it will be used every day. No filters extra lenses or anything, just a laptop and 1 camera.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Any more??

Was looking at crumpler too but their site is a mess and cant really see if what I want is there.

Okay, in that case, I wouldn’t suggest Compudaypack as I am finding it a bit too big for the everyday use. (I am planning to get a “Crumpler Eonsiderable Embarrassment” as a laptop bag. http://www.amazon.com/CRUMPLER-Considerable-Embarrassment-Laptop-Case/dp/B000B73OIC)

    Good luck with your search!
