To be honest, for putting in 35mm film, I think it would be easier to just use the elastic bands, as shown here http://shop.lomography.com/holga-backup/35.html
Thats a quick and easy way to use 35mm. Might have a go at that. Have some Infrared i’d love to try in the Holga. Thanks for info.
FlipflipParticipantDenverDollParticipantOh.
Yeah now I see.
This isn’t easy, is it. :cry:Johnny,
Thanks millions for taking the time to post that. Sometimes it just really helps to see things :DShar
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantJust to let everyone know though…be VERY careful with that link Flipflip…cos their “click” rule is actually wrong. This one is right…

And if anyone wants to borrow my 35mm adapter and the modified back, give me a shout. It’s a 35mm insert for your holga with the proper back but with a plastic covering over the window.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantJimmyGParticipantHi all. I love the holga images. I don’t have one but i think my pinhole camera is pretty holga-esque.
It’s 16mm focal length, and 0.15mm hole (made from beer can aluminium), f107. I use it handheld with fast film so i can achieve speeds of 1/30, 1/15th in bright light. It’s 35mm slr modified heavily (no batteries required). Here’s a few samples.
Debating whether to get a holga or not, unused cameras depress me…. think i’ll stick with the pinhole, though i’m an avid watcher of holga posts – although all too few on this site. It’s all crops, levels, contrast etc etc. I prefer the ‘god’ given images warts and all. Here’s some of those pinhole images made last weekend in and the previous in Lahinch, in the great weather we’re having.
DenverDollParticipantThanks so much for sharing Jimmy. The first one of the surfers is simply amazing.
davedunneParticipantFlipflipParticipantgreat collection there.
you’ve really not got much to lose buying one Jimmy, theyre cheap from eBay or somewhere like that.

Also flipflip…if you want me to scan them in, just ask, no probs, J
Thanks alot man. I really appreciate that. Im gonna try find somewhere in Waterford today that can scan em. If I’m still unsuccesful then I’ll send em onto ya!
AimeeParticipantJimmyGParticipantCheers for the comments. I’ve got a huge collection from this camera at this stage, and also some zone plate photos from another setup, anybody else out there using the zone plate? It’s basically a pinhole with rings around it and it gives a soft focus and glow effect. It’s made with ortho film by photographing a larger scale drawing – and using the processed film as the ‘lens’. It needs to be set at the correct focal length also. Here’s a few samples from a brazilian photographer – there’s very few to be found of quality on the WWW.
http://www.geocities.com/Paris/Rue/4414/zp/zpe.htmQuestion…. is this the correct place to post such images, i’ve posted a couple before in the critique forum but they don’t generate much discussion. I think i’ll post here in new threads from now on, this holga thread is pretty huge.
MarkKeymasterIf you’re looking for critique, the regular critique forums are the best to be honest.
If you’ve taken a shot with a holga etc… then mention that in the post so that people can appreciate it a bit more.EddieParticipantJimmy,
Enjoyed your images over the last day or two. The new Low Fidelity section is as good a place as any for Pinholes.
Going to have a go again at pinhole photography on World Pinhole Photography Day . Tried a year or two back with little success after seeing some prints of Dublin Bay at the Royal Hospital Kilmaniham.JimmyGParticipantcool eddie. I’ll waiting on WPPD meself.
ya, i think this is the best place to post ‘alternative photography’ images. after all, those interested can find such images more easily here. Let the others come to us i say if they want to be educated! I do alot of straight photography but it’s this kind of stuff that I really appreciate….you get to see something different!.. and why bother them with blurry, out of focus, vignetted, uneditied images.
