Cheers…it’s actually a photo of the window display on the side of Brown Thomas…directly opposite Conn’s Cameras….lol
mortParticipantExcellent Johnny! I wonder would you be able to recreate that effect again or was it just the Holga voodoo at work?
Luke PortessParticipantJohnnyMcMillanParticipantJohnnyMcMillanParticipantJohnnyMcMillanParticipantAND LASTLY….don’t worry won’t be hogging the light for a good while from this…didn’t know whether I liked this in colour…but I tried it in b/w post p
EddieParticipantCouple of really nice images, the portrait is super, I have not seen this kind of quality from a Holga in some time.
davedunneParticipantFrom my first Woca roll (excluding the one I screwed up during development and the test roll I shot to determine if that problem was me or the camera – it was me by the way).
Up until now I’ve been shooting with Holgas but I like the glass lens in the Woca.
I think the dark areas at the top are from the wayward pieces of tape I used to hold the batteries in place. They have since been trimmed so next time the frame should be a bit more uniform.
EddieParticipantYou will have to educate me , dont know anything about the WOCA. Anyway these seaside machines are so popular with photographers, they look like smiling aliens especially with the soft lenses of the toy cameras. The central area is sharper than a Holga by far.

A Woca is essentially a Holga with a glass lens. I am not sure where they come in the Holga evolution but I suspect that they are quite old. They have some of the hallmarks of early edition Holgas with no 6×6 mask and the frame counter slider impossible to move without prying it with a screw driver. They have probably now been replaced by the Holga G series maybe to cash in on the notoriety of the Holga name.

I will be the first to admit I have an addiction problem with taking these viewfinder things. I took photos of 3 different styles on this roll alone.
JohnnyMcMillanParticipantEddieParticipantThanks for the info, was never very good on the technical aspects of the cameras (excepy Nikon F’s). Recently got a free modified Holga for the WTCD 2006 competition , has a cable release, focuses to 2ft and has two working apatures of f8 and f11. A luxury Holga i guess.
