What is your next lens purchase will be?
at the moment I am saving for a 24-70 2.8L would this lens worth to sacrifice about 180 days of lunch :D or is there any alternative option in low cost market.ciaranParticipantI still have awful lens lust for the 70-200mm f2.8 VR from Nikon, but it’s damn expensive and very hard to get your hands on.
After that, I think I’d love a super wide prime (10mm, perhaps 14mm)
Then next on the list is a 300mm f2.8 but thats a LONG way off in the distance
Noely FParticipantFajitasParticipantOne helluva giant lens!!!
Hope you have a monopod! Haha!
I remember using it to see what a security guard was watching on his CCTV doing night shots one time!
Friend of mine uses it for drifting and motorsport shots.
LoGillParticipantIt seems I’m never ever going to be able to afford to buy shoes again…..
BUT my next barefoot shopping trip will probably be for a good 10mm prime and after that I’m thinking 80-200 F2.4… and after that ……….
:D
LorraineshrapnelMemberi just received my what next lens, so i don’t think i’ll be getting anything else for a veeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyy long time: i got the nikon 18-200 DX VR hence why i just sold the 18-70 to offset the cost (ends up not being too expensive) :D
masteroftherealmParticipantSigmas 18-50 f2.8is looking very appetising at its new price.
Lens lust for a leica MP and Nocti :)
Realistic lens lust for 70-200 f2.8 and a 50mm1.4 by summers end if possible.
FrankCParticipantThe unrealistic option : Canon 70-200 f2.8 L IS USM
The more realistic option : Canon 70-200 L f4 USM
MarkKeymaster_brian_ParticipantdundhooneParticipantSome sort of a macro lens /extension tubes setup. that new 150mm sigma looks nice……then again there are a few in the 90-105mm range that are decent lens for reasonable money!
This isnt the cheapest of hobbies
kenmurphyParticipantJust got it
Sigma EX DG 100 – 300 f4
after trying for 7 months to get a Sigma 120 – 300 f2.8
just as I got the camera starts to act up
would love a prime 300 f2.8 or 400 f2.8
but I have to feed the two kids and wife so a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way off
SteveFEMemberAlready bought it, just waiting for the postie: 50mm Zuiko f1.4 for my D30 (via OM-EOS adaptor plate). I already have a Canon plastic 50 and the glass is nice but the AF is rubbish in pub light so I figured I might as well go faster, go manual focus and probably a bit sharper, for a peanuts price (you could get another couple at the price I paid and still need to find a bit more to get the Canon f1.4 version new). Cannot wait! A neighbour also gave me a 135mm Zuiko f2.8 for which he had no use (it belonged to his sister?more money than sense apparently, in his own words?and ended up in his junk pile in the loft). It’s a portrait beast!
(1/40, ISO800, f2.8, handheld ;)
KeithJackParticipantI got a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 to compliment the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. Cracking buy. I do a lot of equestrian work and it really helps having both lenses a f2.8. Nothing left to buy! :)
MarkKeymasterWas looking at the Nikon 80-200 F2.8 not the AF-S one though.
Unfortunately not being AF-S it won’t work with the teleconverters, ie TC-14 etc…Mark
