good point, i am just looking for some where to get it. i have never used kea so i just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
guthrijParticipantKea have a good reputation but I don’t think the saving is sufficient to warrant the hassle. Remember, Sterling is weak against the Euro at the minute – €1 = £0.80.
Good luck.

joe_elwayParticipantCalumet is only a short spin from you in Dublin as well. Give them a call to see if they have the item in stock. If they do, a couple hours of driving and you’re back home with your lens.
nfl-fanParticipantCalumet get the thumbs up from me too… check out their website… good photo of the week gallery there too… especially the Aug 26th choice (cough, cough).
But seriously, I have dealt with them and would recommend same.

You’re too modest :D
guthrijParticipantI bought a camera from Calumet in London. Did the deal over the phone. Great service. I received two voice mails asking if the camera had arrived and was I satisfied with the service. I know it is easy to be cynical but I did feel that they cared about their customers.
ben4130ParticipantI bought 2 nikon lenses from calumet in belfast, great people to deal with cosidering there was alot of hassle getting the lenses
scasMemberi have the 24-105 and its brilliant, but i used to have the 17-85 and i think i had a really sharp copy because to be honest apart from the ca’s the distortion at 17-19ish and the not L quality feel, there wasn’t a huge difference.. while i wouldn’t swap the 24 for the 17 under any circumstances i do remember the first L i got ( a 70-200 f4 ) and the whole thing was a bit of an anticlimax as my piccys didn’t become 2 times better sharper or just plain feking marvelous. its a great lens save yourself a fortune and get the 17 and in time you can ge something ‘better’. as regards the sigma 24-70 avoid- focus probs and so soft at 2.8 its unusable unless your printing at 14 or les.
mickskellyParticipantIf you are interested I’m selling my 17-85 as I recently got a 17-55. It’s very lightly used, perfect condition, only a few months old. Looking for only €250 for it as it was part of a kit purchased in america.
PD_BARBSParticipantYou could also get it from Kerso in Scotland.
I have his latest price lists and he is selling the 24-105mm for £595, which is £200 cheaper than jessops.
He is highly recommended on other forums.
