    Hi,

whats the best metering setting for landscape shots?

    Landscape
    Use a tripod
    F11 to 22
    ISO 100
    aperture priority

    Mark
    Keymaster

To be honest, spot metering and then shooting in manual mode is going to be the best.
In aperture priority and spot metering you should be able with your camera to adjust the metering +/- with the EV button/setting.

The key is that you are deciding what the camera selects to meter against and not the other way around.

    Thats my 2c :)

really a how long is a piece of string question…. regardless of how fancy the metering system is it’s always limited by the fact the camera doesn’t know what it’s looking at… it will always assume 18% Gray….

personally I use multiple point spot metering, but I don’t think that’s available on all cameras??

    next up for landscape…

hyperfocal distance is more important than fstop…

next… if you can switch to 160 iso… it’s quieter!

    and definitely tripod!!
beyond f8 most sensor/ lens combinations will be sacrificing sharpness for depth of field… an understanding of depth of field achievable using hyperfocal distance will allow you use a sharper aperture
