Whats your current favourite photography related gadget??
-
constantineParticipant
At the moment, mine is the epson p-3000 portable hardrive.
No more losing memory cards, as I only need one!
Whats your current favourite gadget? (Anything bar the actual camera)
EddieParticipantSitting here for 5 minutes and cant think of one . Thats so bloddy sad, never really was a gadget person, but have got great use out of one of those round portable reflectors for studio work. Especially useful when subject has glasses. One mainlaight and the reflector works really well. Sorry i can’t be a bit more high tech. A few friends have the portable hardrives , especially useful for travelling abroad.
joe_elwayParticipantJohnnyMcMillanParticipantSee you have to understand that I’m a simple guy….with simple ideas….and a simply bad sense of humour
But alas this is my favourite toy at the moment….I’m a level headed guy…
Sorry bad joke…
MikeanywhereParticipantJohnny – where did you get the spirit level from and does it sit in the tripod mount??
Oh, to answer the original question. My favourite toy = expodisc
ThorstenMemberGosh, there’s quite a few I couldn’t do without. So maybe I’ll just mention the most unusual one I have. It’s a simple shower cap :!: Because it’s a shower cap it’s waterproof. If I happen to be out with the camera stuck on a tripod and it starts to rain, out comes the shower cap over the camera. It’s big enough to fit over the camera + shorter lenses and the elasticated headband ensures that it won’t blow off and stays firmly put. It’s save my camera on more than a few occasions. I never go anywhere without it!
I guess in terms of sheer “gadgetry”, my Garmin GPS 12XL unit would have to feature highly!

I have a level like that too – got it through 7dayshop.com – currently only GBP 5.99!
I thought about the Expodisc once but ended up getting a Whibal instead, cheaper and quicker to use in most situations although there are some scenarios where the Expodisc is probably better.

Now thats an idea – must remember to “borrow” one from my next hotel stay
FintanParticipantNot exactly hi-tech but I never go nowhere as the saying goes without my gloves. Very handy these days too.

I wonder can we get them with NIKON or CANON on them.
Anyway best gadget so far, and more than likely the cheapest.
GCPParticipantmy favourite gadget is the one I have not bought yet. I’ll have to call a halt to this buying.
At present I’m doing a re-layout and I’m finding gadgets I bought and never even opened them.My wife says I need counselling, that I have a “buying addiction”. Some of my colleagues are
even agreeing with her.FintanParticipantGCP wrote:

.ooh i do love a bargain, get them listed in the buy and sell section Gerry :D
shutterbugParticipantI got a lens cleaning pen from my sister for Christmas,
it is really handy has a tiny triangle head and some kind
of lens cleaning fluid in the pen and you just twist it and
clean, very easy to hold when your fingers are dropping
off from the cold, (must get a pair of those gloves).jb7ParticipantGCP wrote:

Absolutely with Gerry on this one.
There is nothing quite so useless
as all the gadgets you already have cluttering up your life,
compared to the one that, unbelieveably,
hasn’t made it into your posession yet.By the way,
I prefer to call them ‘components’
that way I can convince myself
that they’re all absolutely necessary.j

JB7 …… Know what you mean. We must organize a car boot sale for “components” ….. and a few cameras also.
