shutterbugParticipantI think this has to be my favourite, taken on the Saltee Islands, on the most blissful day of the year with a great bunch of fellas and it was my first enounter with a Puffin which has to be top of my favourite birds, it brings back lovely memories, I only have to look at this picture (which is hanging in my hallway) and I can feel the sun on my back and hear the sounds of the Saltees.
MarkKeymasterAlan RossiterParticipantI’ve quite a few that I liked from 2010 but this one always draws me back – not stunning but has a curiosity and longevity about it so I suppose it’s justice enough. By the way – this was taken with a compact camera so it’s dedicated for all those who are still in the race to oblivion on camera advancements.
Alan
shutterbugParticipantI remember that one Alan, the Grim Reaper in the background   It is a nice busy photograph
with plenty in it to keep you occupied.miki gParticipantAlthough not a great photograph technically (and not sure if I would say it’s “my favourite” from 2010), but it is one that I was happy to have my camera with me at the time.
:DMartinParticipantI think this is possibly my favorite. Its a photograph of a lith darkroom print I made. I watched this guy making a coal bucket at the Nobber Fair for around 40 minutes. This is one of the pictures I took of him while making it
SeaviewParticipantSome great images popping up from 2010, for a lot of reasons my first trip to the Saltees with Jenny was one of my best days. This photo of Molly is one of my favourites from 2010.
Dave.
ossie13ParticipantAs I did not get out as much as I should have, this is my fav taken at the end of the year!!
Wishing you all a very Happy 2011…..Cheers Steve
justaguyParticipantlousyParticipantTaken on the first day of the November snow 2010, something about it I like…Johnstown Castle Wexford
PaulHarteParticipantThis was my Favourite picture, I used Photmatix to get the HDR effect. What are people’s opinion of HDR ? http://www.flickr.com/photos/42398143N03/5155560045/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
Green MeanieParticipantVery happy with this one from the World Superbikes in Silverstone last year, taken from the cheap seats :)
pelagicMemberThis posting is to encourage others to record how we were starting off in 2010.
I’m a beginner and haven’t produced a single image 1/100th as good as any shown in this thread.
But I have one awful photo that made everyone in our family very happy.
The lighting conditions were awful (green tint), there’s lots of camera shake, I didn’t know how to best use the one flash I own and there are hours of inexpert work in Elements to get it to this condition.
This is my wonderful mother-in-law, 85 years young, singing at the 60th birthday party of her oldest son.
Here, for emotional reasons only, is Granny:
shutterbugParticipantAww Ted, thats lovely, favourite is not about how “good” it is how sharp,
composed, rule of thirds etc etc! It is just what is says on the label
FAVOURITE, and it can be that for any number of reasons, like yours is :)
