I’m going to see Rodney Crowell at Whelan’s. Will I get any hassle if I take the DSLR to get some shots?

You shouldn’t John. Just run it by the door staff when you get there. If there is a promoter there have a word with them or perhaps the band manager. A good way around it is if your on Myspace or Facebook, add the bands profile as a friend and tell them you want to do some shots, if that would be OK. You can then offer your images to them if your happy with them. Don’t use flash though, it’ll just irritate them. Hope that’s some help
