As far as I can see, there are no physically identifiable clues anywhere in this picture, to the best of my eyesight.
So it’s going to be a process of narrowing down….Looks European though to me…..

I had seen all the stuff about clues but as you can see from my
failure to answer up ’til now they went way over my head.This place is in Europe. It is a fort (although sometimes it is referred to
as a castle). Seems to have had a very chequered history.Don’t know if that is any clue or not. We’ll see I suppose.

Sorry for delay. Was out trying to earn a living.
Jeez ’tis getting harder.Both wrong.
Below is a brief description of some of the chequered history I mentioned earlier.
This is a Byzantine fort built to protect a harbor. Rebuilt by the Lusignans, it was dismantled by the Venetians and rebuilt by the Ottomans.
