Which is better???

Ok so I am suck between to lens at the moment and want to see which one you guys think is better to invest in. Its manily for weddings, Portriats and the like.
The two are-
1-Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di II LD Asp Canon Mount
2-Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di – Canon MountMy camera is a Canon Eos 20D

Both good lenses, I have never tried the 17-50, but it has an excellent reputation, supposed to be very sharp. I own the 28-75 and love it, nice and sharp and really like the colours it produces.
One thing though it does search abit in low light, something you will need to think about if most of your shooting is indoors.
You may also want to think about the extra reach you get from the 75 vrs what you lose at the wide end.
