Which lens is best?

I’m looking to buy a telephoto lens and have my eye on two at the moment, the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and the Sigma 135-400mm f/4.5-5.6 APO. Are there any major differences between the two? (apart from focal length)

I have the Canon lens & find it ok for general use. I haven’t used the Sigma and I dont think the extra reach will really make much of a difference. I find the Canon can deliver decent shots in good lighting & is nicely balanced, but it’s a struggle to handhold in poor light.
