I am considering puchasing a lighting kit
I want something to use for:
Portrait type shots
Product Shots
and possible some quicktime VR modelingI am more a keen ameteur than a pro, so dont want to spend silly money
was thinking 500 or 600 euro
I have looked around and found a few different kits
I was hoping to find something that i can maybe add to or upgrade
any help would be apprciated
Not Pete the blokeParticipantElinchrom D-Lite kit which is available for approx ?399.00 which is equivalent to say 575 Euro. Plenty of power for digital SLR, and adjustable in 1/10 of a stop increments. Only down side is not fan cooled, but personally I have used mine for several hours and they have never malfunctioned due to heat.
BarkerPhotographicParticipantThe Elinchrom D-Lite 2 Kit now comes with TWO softboxes as standard along with all the other accessories and cases, we stock ( as do several dealers in Limeick, and Dublin) it for ?649 Inc the good old Irish Vat of 21%. See : http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/flash-heads-and-kits.htm.

Got my own D-Lite kit from Paddy Barker very recently and extremely happy with my testing so far. Nothing posted yet because I’m still only experimenting, but it’s a cracking kit, more than sufficient for portrait work or group shots (I’ve tried groups of six or seven and had no problems), and fully portable too. Gets my recommendation anyway.
Rob.

We are one of the dealers noted in Paddy’s post above. So, if your in Dublin drop in or give us a call. D-Lite 2 Kit ?649.00 all in. For those of you with a larger budget don’t over look the D-Lite 4 ?849.00 all in.

Hi Steve,
A pair of D-Lite 2’s will happily light a family group and most other subjects (product work etc), while the D-Lite 4 kit will handle pretty much anything you care to shoot. If the budget allows, the D-Lite 4’s Guide Number of 64 (Means if you set camera at ISO 100 and shoot at full power with flash 1m from subject that you set an Aperature of f64*) will not let you down, you can also reduce power by up to 5 f stops in 1/10th stop steps for real control. Sorry about URL, please try this: http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/flash-heads-and-kits.htm
* Depends on choice of reflector, umbrella, softbox etc. fitted to head.
