haven’t posted in a long while, been out with the camera club showing some beginners the basics and spotted this couple sitting on a bench.First one is a close up and the second one shows more of the guys legs.Dont know if the second bench in front is a distraction (2nd shot) so don’t know whiich i like more?any thoughts?

First one by far as they are both smiling and they are sitting better in the frame

I like the second one John because it shows the relaxed pose of the man aswell as the woman, implying how comfortable they are in conversation together. I also like how the seat design frames them together as a unit :)
I would have liked to have seen just a little more space below the mans feet to give them more room in the frame.

I like the first one best!
For the same reasons as Martin :)

Good points noted ,I was more aware of the framing around the heads(the backrest of the seat) than the feet.Thats all the room i left on the bottom.

Add me to the first one brigade. I prefer the tighter crop and the interaction. The crop point on the legs is good and breaks naturally.

First shot for me. Agree with Martin, good to see both smiling.

Two for me. His relaxed body language, she’s leaning in showing interest.

No.1 in my book. The composition is stronger and the shot looks more relaxed.

The relationship between the two people seems stronger and more intimate in the first shot.
