I’d tend to go for the second, but can I suggest a small clone. I’d either crop or clone out that little bit in the bottom right corner. Apart frm that it’s a beautiful image with a nice calming feel.

Hmm, tis a touch one. I think both have their merits. I think the first is more balanced than the second, however my eye just seems to look as far as the horizon and stop there. The second shot has a great lead to the horizon and i suppose, holds the viewers attention for that bit longer, I think you might need to leave a bit more sky in to balance the shot. I’m going for the second, (i think the city lights take away from the first.). Very nice shot, lovely tones and subtle colours.

I agree, two wonderful images…I’d personally prefer the first one, although there is a black mark (post?), in the water which is crying out to be removed…

I like the second one and agree with Brian about the crop and with Ali about adding little bit more sky.

First one for me, without a doubt.
    Well balanced and lovely tones.
The stick in the water adds a little extra point of interest. Maybe make it a little longer with a longer reflection.

Second one for me. For me though, it’s crying out for more of the S curve on the right hand side. The first … the sky is too empty. Would have been a different story if Mother Nature had blessed you with some interesting clouds.

Have you tried a letterbox crop of the 1st?

First one for me. In general though, all else being equal, I tend to go for lower horizons.

    2nd one 100%.
The deep blue seems to almost pour out of the image (don’t make the frame too thin ).
    Agree with the suggested crop.

I like no 2. I think there is more interest in the water than in the sky and you have more sky than water in No1.

They are both nice but my vote goes to # 1.
