gedreillyParticipant
i read practical photography for years..stopped taking photos…and returned to reading it when i recommenced my photo taking…but i also started reading photography monthly…then the strangest thing happened…will cheung left PP, went to PM, and suddenly all the articles became similar…..hmmmm…conspiracy…what do you think…now i only buy mags as i see them….if the articles appeal, i purchase otherwise i trust the sites like this for impartial feedback and honest reviews
RobMemberParis Match. Not a photography magazine as such, but always worth looking at for the standard of photography. For instance, 20th September issue, no. 2991, has some stunning images from Namibia taken by Sabastiao Salgado.
mike-f11ParticipantYaeh I’ve seen great photographs in Paris Match.
Another is National Geographic. Superb phoptography I think you’ll agree. And taken by the world’s best photographers.

DakyParticipantI buy Black and White Photography every month and also get the RPS Journal.
I only buy any of the others when I’m looking for a piece of equipment – I find that there are too many adverts in them.BertieWoosterParticipantSince I posted previously in this thread I have bought a few more copies of Amateur Photographer. I’m impressed with them and have resolved to take out a subscription at Xmas.

Could you tell me what the RPS Journal is like? I have a high esteem for the RPS as a whole and am toying with the idea of joining them and their Travel special interests group. Is the magazine free to members? And is it any good? Thanks
BertieExpresbroParticipantAs posted in a duplicate thread by me… Amateur Photography is the mag I have found best from a beginners point of view…
and like someone said above..is great that they can manage to fill it every week…even if a large number of pages are ad based..but there are still plenty of interesting articles, reader portfolios and product reviews… :D
There bumper christmas issue is out now as well..must remember to pick it up
SodafarlMemberI used to subscribe to Digital Photo and it is great for photoshop, after a couple of years apart from new cameras gadgets etc the lessons wer repeating themselves. I now get Practical Photography whih has some great features and I find extremely helpful.
