    Yep,

As I said to you before I think this is a fantastic pic.
The off centreed figure works well and his expression is
    great.
Maybe you could brighten up the eyes a little too.

    I love it overall A.

    That is just fabulous.

For me thats a “wish I had taken that” kind of shot.

    I just love it.

    Hi Helen,

Thank you for your compliments. Its my first time getting into a crowd and taking photos of people, epically people I don’t know. I would be more into landscape photography but want to branch out and take more people. This kid was standing behind me with a ‘whistle’ blowing it louder than a fog horn so I asked his mother (as you do) if she would mind if I could take his photo. Unfortunately I never got her details or did i think to give her a card. I had a female photographer with me only for that I wouldn’t take photos of kids, I feel these days its hard for male photographers to photograph children in public.
    Another photo
    Thanks again

    Hi Austin,

the second shot is just as beautiful.

I too am wary of taking shots of children other than my own daughter and if I upload Rowena’s picture to flickr its always private.

I suppose its a sign of the times about taking photographs of children, I have even heard stories where parents aren’t even allowed to take photos of their own children at concerts, matches etc.

First shot is lovely, do you mean it to be a bit subdued and dark?

    Hi Si,

Short answer is yes. I took the photo because of the range of colours the boy had on but after seeing it felt it did’nt need it and toned it down. Thanks for the compliment.

the first is lovely – I think you could do a little more work to bring out the eyes and skin (its bordering on look a little underexposed- or is that my screen ).. without ruining what the look achieved with the beautiful tones and slightly dark feel to the image ! For me the thick black frame is overbearing in terms of your presentation –

    Nice !
