Whistlestop tour of the Falls Rd in Belfast
-
markst33Participant
I was up in Belfast to do best man at a friends wedding. On the morning of the wedding he took me on a whistlestop tour with my camera of the Falls and Shankill roads. Heres a few from the Falls. Bear in mind that this was an hour before he got married so we tried to get as much in as we possibly could :)

wirepicParticipantThey certainly know how to do murals in Belfast. Can’t understand why you’re not getting a reaction to these.
markst33ParticipantCheers Fergus. It seems to be the way the site is going alright. They either have to be crap or brilliant to elicit responses these days :)
jodal1975ParticipantNice set . I lived up the falls for a year and half … So these kind of break me back.. Although the murals keep changing. Last time I was up there were quite a few E.T.A ones painted . It certainly is a unique place.

Apart from the site being quiet, these are just record shots of other peoples art and as such not particularly impressive photographs. You walk up to the mural, point and shoot. I know, I’ve done it myself :D
As record shots go, they do the job fine but as “street” shots they don’t work as there is nothing going on in any of them apart from the last one with the guy on the ladder.
MarkKeymasterWell actually according to my google stats, the site isn’t quite as quiet as you’d think (play on words :)). I looked at these a couple of times and while they’re nice of course I felt that they were just record shots instead of saying something. As you say Mark these were taking in a very short time and therefore it’d be hard to capture anything other than record shots.
Sometimes on PI (this goes back to day 1), people feel that saying nice shot doesn’t always cut it. We don’t want to be a +1 like site so sometimes unless people are confident enough to express an opinion other than +1 etc… that they tend not to comment at all. Human nature and all that….
Anyhow, aside from all of the above. I’d personally like to travel back to Belfast and spend some time capturing the atmosphere, mural’s and people of Belfast. We’ll have to arrange a trip up soon I think. So the photos have given me some much needed motivation.
By the way, please disagree with me. It’s always good to hear someone else’s view other than my own online :D
cheers!
Mark
