I took a stroll on Saturday in Powerscourt Golf Course, there were no golfers whatsoever to be distracted by a tripod or myself. The picture I present for your consideration is cropped and I used the infrared filter at f11 and 30 seconds exposure.

Lovely shot Dan .. did you lighten the sky? I only ask because anytime I’ve shot IR, it’s made the sky dark, providing a bit of contrast to the shot … perhaps you cropped the darkened sky out?

Lovely softness to this image … in a good way …

Thank you for the comments Phillip, much appreciated.

Nothing has been modified in the skies, it was really bright and clear, but I know exactly what you mean. It also happened to me before.
The crop was done to remove the bottom reflection which made the original image symmetrical at the pond line. The only post processing I’ve done is the channel mixing to take out the reds.

I know all the images taken with this lens (18-55 on my Pentax) are a bit soft, but I have to wait till I will get a better glass :)

Was it the R72 filter that you used ? I usually get a much blacker sky with it. Your trees show the IR effect but the sky should be darker.

The filter used was the P007 Cokin Infrared 89B.
