Taken on a weekend trip to Ballycastle last year.
C&C welcome.Regards Neil
StevenHannaMemberReally love the composition in this image, with a great sky and I think the whole subject looks well in B & W.
The only thing I might suggest is to add a little more contrast, and maybe a little bit of dodging & burning in the sky – that sky has so much potential and could look even more dramatic (if that was the look you were after).Really good image Neil.
Steven
GrahamBParticipantI love the dramatic sky in this shot. I would loke to see it in colour.
If there was even a hint of a red sky it might look great if really boost
the colour up. It give a little more impact to an already dramtic sky.ajParticipantandy mcinroyParticipantI was down here by Kenbane castle a few weeks ago. Did you blatantly disregard the no-entry signs like I did?
This is an excellent shot. Looks like you must have been there on a summer morning to get the light hitting the cliff. Makes them look even more impressive.
I do feel that the shot could do with a little bit of rotation though.
Andy
BanjoParticipantSteveDParticipantNice shot Neil, very dramatic. I do think it needs a little bit more work in terms of overall contrast though.

My thoughts too. Apart from that,
marvellous capture Neil.Rob.
jb7ParticipantHello Neil-
I’d agree with the consensus regarding the rotation-
I know you usually filter in camera,
but I’m wondering if there has been some post process darkening of the sky in this case-
the tops of the cliffs do seem to have a distinct dark edge to them,
while the sky seems to lighten at that junction-I must admit to not being entirely taken with this one,
maybe its the wedge shaped composition,
and the lack of definition in the cliff face-
and maybe its because the sky does appear to be one grade harder than the rest of the picture.I don’t know the orientation,
or the time of day,
but you can see a lit cliff face in the far distance,
and the modeling does help-sorry for not being more positive-

What signs and locked gates :DThis shot was taken in the afternoon around 4’o clock on our way back to the hotel after a long day around the Antrim coast.
It was a long walk down so I was not going to turned back by a sign.
Took a lot of shots of the castle and surrounds.
I agree with all the comments about the contrast.
Here is were i have a problem with posting images.
This is a 150Kb compressed jpeg file of a 60MB 16bit PSD file. So alot of the detail is going to be lost in the file you see on your computer screens.
You should see the finished print. It looks different to the screen. Again I have 4 computer screens and it looks different on the all except one to the print.
In the last club competition it got 9/10 and all the judge said was he might crop a bit of the bottem.Once again thanks for your comments.
RobertoMemberI was looking this shot more time and had same feeling as JB but could not put in words…..
I like the composition and in print must look fab.andy mcinroyParticipantneilmcshane wrote:

To be honest Neil, I think that at your proficient level of photography, you should probably be ignoring camera club judges. It’s always good to get broad feedback from as many people as possible and this forum is excellent for that, but your own critical self appraisal should probably be starting to have greater influence.
