White Rocks beach

    Hi,

This is my first photograph that I have posted for c+c. It was taken last night at White Rocks beach just after sunset. It turned out to be a beautiful clear evening. The sun was setting to the left of the photograph, this caused the dark blue sky in the top right corner.

    Thanks for looking

    Hi Brian,

I must say I like this a lot and would be very
    happy if it were mine.

    I really like the colour.

There’s the darker blue you mentioned on the RHS and the rock
being dead centre could be pointed out.
It could also be pointed out that horizon is quite central and
    it is in portrait format.

But apart from wishing there was a little bit of light falling
on the rock I probably would’nt change a thing.

    Well done.

    John.

Very good. Very graphical image, I could imagine this as some
sort of post with a text overlay. Lovely colours…

I agree with the above comments. A simple uncomplicated image that looks great.

Thanks for the good comments everyone. I was back at the White Rocks last night but this rock was surrounded by foot and paw prints, just like the rest of the beach. I guess that I was lucky the other night.

Hi Brian, this is a nice image with a lovely cool feel. IMO a landscape format might have been even more successful here, and the empty upper sky doesn’t do much for me. By using a landscape format you could have shown more of the interesting bit of sky!

    Hi Stephen,

Yes, I would like a landscape of this. It was getting pretty dark and there was a pretty scary cave right behind me so I legged it as soon as I got this. I went back last night but the sand was disturbed and didn’t look as nice.
