Can ppl advise if a true macro lens, Sigma 105 or 80mm, would produce better results than this. This was shot with a Siggy 18-50 f2.8 lens at f4. I’ve been considering a macro lens and just wondered would it really be worth investing when I’m getting decent results like this, bearing in mind it’s been cropped quite a bit.

This looks just fine to me, I have the Sigma 70mm macro and while it does give me
nice sharp images I dont know whether it would be any better than you have achieved
here, if I remember correctly you are using the Sony a100?? as I am, I havent had a
lot of time recently to play with it but if I got something like this quality I would be pleased.
