Taken on Sat afternoon, waiting patiently for a little glimpse of sun to break through the rather menacing looking sky. I got rain instead
Thanks for looking.
Tech Details:
Canon 1D MKII N c/w 17-40mm
ISO50
0.3sec f16
0.4 & 0.8 ND GradsdavenewtParticipantThat’s a great sky… particularly on the left, near the horizon in the distance. Boiling :-)
Not sure I like the dark fringing of the hill on the right though. Post-processing?

AliParticipantStunning image one again Steven. Really like the contrast, mood, composition and i think
you did well making the old building the point of interest. I think you could
get away with cropping some of the sky out. Also, (maybe it’s my monitor) but there
looks to be a halo around the mountain? Super shot, would love to see a print. :)LoGillParticipantAnother very consistant image. Composition and toning works really well, and the depth and texture is fantastic from sky to the building and the light accross the field and sea. This makes me feel like I’ve gone back in time .
Lovely image :)

dan_cParticipantSo, you used 2 ND grads? Very interresting. Could you tell us why? thanks
SteveDParticipantVery nice once again Steve. Good composition creating depth. I hate walking past that building in the dark, tis a bit spooky!!
StevenHannaMemberneilmcshaneParticipantWounderful image Steven. As with Ali I would love to see the pirnt of this image. A 8bit low res jpeg does not do it justice.

jb7ParticipantHi Stephen-
Amazing location and atmosphere-
As Dave mentioned, that sky is boiling-
Its difficult to see at this resolution,
but is there a bit of wavy distortion on the horizon?
It could just be atmospherics,
but its difficult to tell-How much is .4 and .8?
about 3.5 stops?
I don’t use them,
so I don’t know,
but I have a .6 still in its wrapper-I’m sure it makes a great print-

J – there shouldn’t be distortion as I ran it through PTLens, but I’ll have a closer look at the TIFF and check.
I think it’s in and around 3 stops, not 100% sure. I’m not the most technically minded person! lolSteven
