Strolling the Champs Elysees I came across this scene.

Who needs a camera is right-
She’s great, as is the reflected light on the man’s face-
Seems the same adage is applicable to sketching too-
it’s all about knowing where to stand-
    Maybe they’re in competition…

The picture- maybe cropping as far as the hand of the woman on the left might make it more self contained?
Not sure if she’s adding to the picture,
and as (I’m assuming) it’s digital, I wouldn’t be too worried about cropping a street shot…

I think this is great! Well captured John.

I agree that a crop would improve it – I’d put both the artists an equal distance from the edges of the frame.

    Hi Joseph,

    Thanks for the reply.

I included the woman on the left because I though she might have been part of the party.
She definitely seemed to be interested in what I was doing.
I can see that your suggested crop is worth a try and I will revisit.

I wondered if they now have a sketch of me pointing a camera at them.
A little too Monty Python perhaps.
    Probably the Arc de Triomphe.

I also wondered about the mask.
Was there something I didn’t know.

    Thanks again.

    John.

    Hi bingbongbiddley,

Thank you for your kind comments.

I’ll try that crop later and put it up for comment.

    Cheers.

I like it as is actually.

Lots of Japanese tourists wear masks btw. :)

Great capture John. I’m undecided on whether to crop or not to crop. hmmm. Need to consider
that a bit more :) Both work for me anyhow.

    Hi Mark,

It’s very kind of you to take the time to reply.

I can see the merit in both compositions.
As I said I include the sitting lady as she seemed involved.
The 2nd version does concentrate the attention better on the artists.

It’s great to get feedback and commentss.

    Cheers.

    John.

Like this one. Agree with comments re cropping. Would crop a little more on the man’s side and also the woman’s side. It is the custom for Japanese to wear a mask is they have a cold in order not to spread it. :D
