Yeah. Who wants a site where people get together for an idle chat, post photos
of their bleddy kids, and their bleddy dogs, exchange jokes, announce births,
complain about their illnesses, whinge about the government, review books they’ve
read, spell badly, fight and then make up, meet new friends, chat about music
and play games?If anyone wanted me to join a site like that I’d tell them to get stuffed. Double quick.
I’m there too but its blocked here in work so I can’t give you the url to me. My wife is Colombian so I really only use it to post photos of our son on it for Marlenys family to see his progress. Her Dad discovered the Internet and Facebook at around the same time so now hes hooked, so its handy in that respect.
Ah yes Facebook, Bebo and the likes……The stalkers paradise…and the governments too :x

I got invited by David Burdeny some months ago so I gave it a try 2 weeks ago. I dislike it in the fact that people post what they’re doing right now “JOE SOAP has just woken up” and I got sent 2 bottles of Coors light and a Latté…virtually, of course. It’s like Flickr without reason or taste.
But I did find a friend of mine that I hadn’t been in contact with in over 20 years who now lives in Australia so that was a positive and I’m also hooked on Bejeweled Blitz. It has its uses…just don’t give me virtual presents…or hugs!

Honestly I find FB quite funny, above all because it helps to keep contacts with friends that, otherwise, I would not hear so often but I agree that I’m a “strange” case: I’m italian, so I’ve got a lot of friend there, then I lived in Scotland, where I’ve got friends too and now (FOR now!) I’m in Dublin….
So FB helps me to reach almost all of them!Cheers
a.I agree wth Alessia for the reasons she lists. I have friends all over the world and I live 1200 miles away from my sister and friends that I grew up with. I also travel all over the world and it lets people know where I am without having to send several different messages. My kids know they can reach me, and my friends talk to me when I am bored and alone.
It is just a bit of fun, nothing to be so critical of. It is not very different from the general chat section of this site

Sharon/Alessia, I know they are the good things about it, if I were traveling a lot, I might think about it too.
I think maybe I have a jaded view of it all, all I seem to have seen of it so far, are pictures of people snogging,
legless, and making silly faces.
And, the posts, I’m off for a poo at Paul’s, kinda thing…
And the silly quizzes… How Irish are you?I just don’t like all that stuff. I mean, really… What’s the point of all that?
