    Nice shot,
    Good perspective,
I wonder if you could brighten the fencepost a little,
Maybe dodge it a little in PS.
    The mono works well.

Was driving by these posts today and was thinking of a shot like this. This is nice. I do think you need better light though. Some nice splashes of light on the landscape would be very nice. As it is its very nice but some better light would have been better…. Id give it another go on another day with better light

    Hi John-Michael,

I like this type of photograph.

I think I would try Paul’s (flynny) suggestion to bring back a little
    detail in the large post.

I might have tried burning in the clouds a bit too but that can be overdone and
maybe it is just right as it is.
I’m just musing out loud here so might be best to ignore me. :?

    Nice shot and good mono.

    Well done.

    John.

    Really?

Now I don’t have a good reputation in this section,
and it’s not likely to be enhanced by this post,
but I’m not sure that, had I taken this, I would have printed it-

It seems rescued, there’s some obvious dodging around the post, the texture in the blacks is missing-
and ultimately, there doesn’t seem to be anything special about the light-

ok, so, as we all know, anyone who posts a comment is only identifying their own prejudices,
    so that’s all I’ve done-
and if I were to be honest, I might be far harsher with the critique of my own pictures than some of the comments I receive on them-
but I don’t get this, as it’s presented-

    Now the flickr thing-
I hope you take this in the spirit in which it’s intended-
but I think the content is slight, and the composition and technique doesn’t make it better-

Sorry to have to disagree with some of our more experienced posters…

jb7, i appreciate all comments opinions and critique, but im not really sure why your posting! You dont seem to like other peoples opinions because of their personal prejudices, your making comments that can only be taken up as sarcastic “Sorry to have to disagree with some of our more experienced posters…” ? since your obviosly the longest member with the most posts and that comes across in your post is a heir of complaining more that constructive criticism. I apologize if im taking you up the wrong way but your entire post comes across in a very negative light. Thanks for the post

You may take it as you like-
it mattes not what I think-

You are of course welcome to post what you think about my pictures too-
if I disagree, I can argue the toss-

I don’t do sarcasm, at least not intentionally-
I’m not meant to, according to the rules, comment on comments,
so if I choose to disagree with other posts,
I have do do so via grammatical convolutions.

You may read my comments how you like,
or disregard them as useless too-

    Which of course, they are-

I actually deleted my reply because i couldn’t word it such a way that came off good and that i wasnt trying to pick a fight. Well, thanks, i would appreciate comments in future.

Ah, it seems your post has been removed-

Perhaps flickr type comments would have been more welcome?

I did make some critical comments about the picture,
but you seem to have ignored them,
in favour of claiming I’m just complaining-

    ok so…

I hadn’t noticed the (over-) working.

What I liked, was the line of the fence, leading into the picture, the way it emulates the rolling line of hills, popping up to keep the eye settled, the movement in the clouds, the range of shades and the texture in the foreground.
