Hi all, New to photography and armed with a Canon 400D, manual, and two Sigma’s (10-20 and 70-300), took to the Wicklow Hills. Comments welcome.

Two nice shots, Like the second the most, nice simple composition and the cropping works well. Like the first also, a bit more sky maybe. Two very nice shots for someone new to photography well done

I prefer the first one, although the colors look a bit too saturated (to my taste). I would try converting it into b/w and increased the contrast.

These are not bad at all for a start.

As the others have said..these are great shots for your first time out. You’ve obviously got a good grasp of the basics of composition and exposure..so it’s onward and upwards from here :D

Yeah, very good photos for the beginer!
My favourite is the first one. Try to adjust the highlights and midtonnes.

Agreed, two pretty good shots. Simple & effective. Hard to find any fault. Maybe just post a tad larger next time, about 800 pixels on the long side so we can have a better route inside the shots.

Hi All, thanks for your advice, kind words and encouagement. Itried converting no. 1 to B&W as suggested, but I don’t think it works. Anyway, thanks again.
