I guess you already know that wildlife can be very elusive, especially when you have. A camera in hand! I tend to go along the coastline for bird life, Birdwatchireland have a sanctuary in Newcastle in Co Wicklow, but it can be very hit and miss there, I have often spent four or five hours there with nothing to show for it, then again an hour can produce all sorts!
The Saltees are great and I love visiting there, have only been twice, but both times were super days out.

I like going to Tacumshim Co. Wexford (under water now) for most water birds, Our Lady`s Island next to it for terns. Silver Strand in Galway is good as well.
