I went for a little ramble in Carne this evening. I liked the sky. I used the polariser to help me get a longer exposure and thus the slight blurring of the blades.

    Thanks for looking.

Your shutter speed was perfect John!

John, the dead space in the top left isn’t great. There isn’t much a crop will do, so I think shooting it again when the upper reaches of the sky are filled with cloud might work.

    Hi John
Good work slowing the shutter ,as SteveD says the sky on the upper does let it down. But, it looks like you did well in a bland sort of day.

    Hi John,

It took a bit of experimenting.
It’s awkward to get an interesting photograph here.

That said it was great to be out and the scene was lovely to view.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi Steve,

I think you are spot on.
It was a lovely scene but the cloud was, as you can see, low.
I did a lot of walking about to try and make a composition.
This was the best I could get before it got dark.

One of the “joys” of landscape photography is having to pack up and
    return another day. :D

    Many thanks for your reply.

    Hi Dee,

    Yep have to agree.

One of the lads on our club site suggested flipping it horizontally to put the
    turbine on the left.
Even if it did I’d prefer to go again, which I do regularly anyway.

It’s great to get such constructive comments.
    Many thanks.

i’d consider cropping a little from the top to remove some of that dead space and to bring the wisp of cloud closer to the centre of the image. very nice and visually appealing to have two clear distinct images against a blank background, unusual to get this in a landscape.

    Hi Liam,

    Thanks for your comments.
Apologies for not replying sooner. I somehow missed your reply.

The blade at the top is quite near the border of the frame.
Would you crop into the blade?
I tried it and it somehow looks a little odd to my eye.

    Cheers,

    John.

    Hi John.
The movement of the blades are beautifully captured. I don’t know the area that you shot this from, but a higher viewpoint would have cut out some of the dead space in the sky & would have given the impression of the clouds being “sucked in” by the turbine. Another day might give you a nicer result. Hard to believe that we can complain about clear skies in photos.
