Not Pete the blokeParticipant
Kitty again. (You can tell I like these myself, despite the lack of overall feedback….) The model herself (who is a professional from England) has said she is thrilled with some of my photos from the weekend. I didn’t believe her until I visited her web page to find that she had used one of them as her avatar and put a gallery in there with 6 of my photos in it!
MikeanywhereParticipantnice shots Ross as already mentioned on flickr.
Kitty is an amazing model, so easy to work with.
jb7ParticipantLovely make-up and hair and great poise from the model-
the lighting looks great too-Continuing the objectification theme from another thread earlier-
We’re now looking down on the model-
and here I have to question your framing- well, rotation, really-The arms travel in and out around the frame, disconnected-
I might have tried to frame down her right upper arm-And your viewpoint-
Things look just a little close-
I wonder if a longer lens/stepladder combo exists?
I think the extra distance might help flatten the perspective on her face-Good stuff as usual Ross-

I’m not surprised she’s pleased with this. I think the colour
is even better than the BW. She looks great.I do find the chopped arms a bit strange – but what do I know
about shooting beautiful weemin? The lighting here is lovely. Not Pete the blokeParticipantThanks jb and Pete – I was wondering what the reaction might be to the cropped arms. Obviously it was deliberate – I was shooting on a step ladder with a 70-200 lens and had to compromise in terms of what I could fit in to the frame. There is little or nothing cropped out from the original. Personally I liked the way the hands come back into the picture, although the bottom hand is more of a problem than the top one. I did take a couple framed the other way, with all of the arms and head but no body in the photograph.
Unfortunately I only had literally time for 6 or 7 shots in this set up, as I was rushing for my taxi to the airport. But I would loved to have had a little more time to experiment with positioning of the arms and different rotations etc. Alas, I will have to wait for others to post their photos so that I can see what might have been….. :)Not Pete the blokeParticipantAnd here, to prove that I did try to include the arms for some of them ( ) is this one:
AllinthemindParticipantHer face angle on the first shot is lovely Ross, the colour looks spot on too.

seanmcfotoMemberHi Ross,
I like both images. As to the cropping of limbs, it’s only that the crop is on the wrist that bothers me, and then even only the tiniest bit. The arm crop at the top could not have been placed any better. It really helps keep the composition tight, drawing us into the face.
The only other suggestion I might have is to retouch the armpits a little more.
