Hello. Still very new to this site. I took this yesterday morning near Carton House in Maynooth. I used hdr processing to deal with the back lit scene but tried to not overdo it. That’s me in the shot thanks to the 10 second timer :D
Normally I REALLY REALLY don’t like HDR, but this works. Only thing though that I would have liked is the trees sharper and they don’t have that slight ‘blur’ as such?
Hi Barry. Welcome to the site. I like the way the shadows and path lead into this shot (and yourself of course). Most landscape photographers here tend to exclude people from the scene which I personally tend to think is a mistake as it can add interest to the shot. I would prefer if the sun was a little more hidden behind the tree as there seems to be a bit of hazing from it. I would prefer a little more of the lake/river visible, but that’s just a personal thing. You have some vignetting in the corners which I don’t know if this is due to the lens used or maybe added post process. I don’t usually like HDR, but I do like this one. Well done
Hi Barry.
Don’t mind all these people here.
I love HDR and I think you did a great job on this one
Thanks for all the comments everyone. I have no problem with people not liking hdr in general. It is really a matter of personal taste. I think one of the reasons hdr has a bad rep is because it is done so badly a lot of the time. Funny enough on this one, I’ve had a few people who don’t usually like hdr say that they liked it in this shot. Thanks again for the comments everyone.
