Winter Wonderland – Cork

And it hardly even snowed overnight – and it still looks like this – after freezing frog & frost!!

Went for a walkabout this morning at the crack of dawn – headed out around 8am (had to get milk from the shop first of course, carried both bottles home in the hand – made icicles of my hand by the time I got back inside)

Anyways, here is a shot taken close to home, of one of the park/green areas of the residential estate (Kenley Drive)

    Details:
    Shutter: 1/15
    Aperture: f/11.0
Focal Length: 18 mm (equiv: 28mm)
    ISO: 100
    Filter: Hoya Pro1-D CIR-PL

Nice wintery scene with nice lighting. It’s a pity the foreground below the near tree is cropped though. Well done

    Hi Tom,

I love the colour you have achieved here.
The white of the tree contrasts well against the blue sky.

I do think you got a little close to the foreground trees.
I find the slanting trees and houses in the distance a little distracting also.

That said I find it a very enjoyable photograph to view.

    Well done.

    John.

BTW You could post a slightly bigger picture to give us a better view.
You can go to 800 px wide.

Yup, those are the thumbs from flick, the next up is 850 wide so didnt fit – might make some alternative sizings :-)

Regarding the foreground, the base of that scene is a kerbside – and running diagonal from near left to far right so to speak – hence that framing – If I was to change it slightly, I could have shot it at a slightly less wide angle and moved back a tad – or corrected the the minor distortion in photoshop – however I decided to just leave it as is !!

    Also, the only post-processing here is curve/exposure – no temp/tone/saturation changes !!

Thanks for the great comments so far – any other comments are greatly welcome also
