Thanks Vee, yes used flash the light was fading I think it was about 9.30pm and
I had the flash on the camera, didnt think it would even reach it was a good
distance, but tried it anyway and this was the result.Jeepers anyway, were you watching out for this one or he just happened to fly by? :D Kind of an odd one but I like it and good to see the bird in full detail :)

He was sitting on an overhead wire and I just waited till he took off. Was trying to get the swallows
but boy you have to be quick with those, you would need to have a swivel neck :lol:Great capture Jenny. I especially like how its tail feathers are fanned out showing the detail & the slight movement caught in the wings. The flash worked well in this.
Thanks everyone, I think I will start using the flash more, I never really
considered it for bird photography, but even with small birds it doesnt seem
to bother them.Great capture, lovely and sharp! Those swallows would be very hard to capture alright..
