Well I defy anyone to say that that picture is not beautiful….! Great lighting and composition. Mayabe you should consider turning pro Si???

Turn pro!… And take all the fun out of it hehe. That was the first film shot I’d taken in months. Between you and I, I didn’t leave it in the developer long enough, luckily B&W film lets you get away with that sort of thing.

    Here’s another from that shoot..

Isn’t this ‘lonely mutterings’ from web models? I found her portfolio to be very impressive, and several from your good self Si.

    I’m sure I’ve seen these before Si…

There’s a lovely quality to the light in these-
    particularly in the second-

You are confusing me slightly though-
wearing another hat, so to speak,
I might have preferred to see the figure occupy the second arch-
as it is, the position of the pillar behind her interrupts the flow of her own arched form-

    Lovely tonality in both-

    Thanks JB,

I’ve tried different arches in the past and found this one to work the best, the arch of her back parallels the top of the arches going into the distance, I’m not usual;ly a fan of centralised subjects but in the facing away shot, it seems to work. It’s the light that I love about this location, as you mve the subject around the archway, you get light from the 4 corners at differing amounts. Magical location.

    All best

Ross, yes, lonely mutterings. (Amy Colwell)

Not that I know what is going on outside your frame,
but its the vertical element bisecting her back that I’d take issue with-
Assuming the structure lines up as the arches recede,
(they’re not arches, more like apertures,
wish I knew the correct term)
then a step to the right might have left a clean backdrop to her uninterrupted form-

    Sorry Si,
I find myself critting the Architectural elements of the shot-

I do see what you mean JB, a step to the right would have put the nearer arch/aperture across her instead, as you can see her head is over the other one. Sometimes, something has to give, and feel free to critique away! Please,

    Si

I’ve seen these on MM, on both profiles. I love the look and toning on these.

Agreed. That’s a stunning image Si, the centrality of your subject works so
well in this case. And I’ll echo what others are saying about the toning too, really nice…

Both are gorgeous, great use of the setting in each.

I love garlic a lot. In fact in winter I take it raw. It is better than any chemical medicine.
I like your images – lovely poses and nice tones
