Workshop/courses for newbies
-
gregorylParticipant
Hi All just joined the forum.I recently purchased a dslr camera I had being using a point and shoot camera for years sony cybershot without fully understanding the cameras features.I have being looking recently at utube videos and photography books related to dslr camera and taking the best from both media.
I was wondering if anyone can advise me from the point of view taking it a more professional level or upper amateur level what courses workshops are worth doing where you will get your moneys worth.Keeping in mind that I am coming to photography late in the day to put it one way.
I have joined a camera club just recently

I have a canon eos 77d with stock lens and a 25 mm fixed lens
grumpy1Participantnever late in the day. Any colleges or schools doing courses near you? The camera club will be a big help as well
AnonymousParticipantAgreed with the camera club!
You can even attend new happening even related to photography around your residence!
Moreover get to watch online tutorials and try to read blogs about photography.Hope that helps!
gregorylParticipantThank you for your replies joined camea club and did a meetup photographic workshop which was very helpful. Also I look at utube and online tutorials as suggested.
gregorylParticipantHi all the resources these courses provide are online or in books, and sometimes an hour with a professional photographer is worth more than an online course for a fraction of the price.Online course without interaction with a tutor is useless in my mind.
AnonymousParticipantHi, it’s a wise move that you have joined the camera club!
My friend is having a Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera. Earlier he had no idea how he will make the most of that camera and how he will improve his skills! Then he joined several workshops and camera clubs.
It has been 1 and a half years today, he is one of the great photographers in his city. :)
Good luck to you!gregorylParticipantJustExposinParticipanthttps://www.photographycourses.biz/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; is well worth a look. Lots of free tutorials and he also does courses. I am not in any way involved with the site except i watch the tutorials. I would be hesitant about courses. better learn the basics and find your own style in my opinion

There is plenty deep knowledge on that site in an advanced course. anything i know i learned from his free videos and then practise and find my own style.Did you watch all his free videos and practise?
Please note I have no contact with the site and am not advertising it. i find him good to teach and not full of himself as so many are. That does not mean i just copy all he does.

then book an hour with a professional. and experiment with your camera. take different shots at differnt settings and see what happens.
