ok, quick edit on #2, (remove non-period gear/weapons) I call this one: KIA – Fallen brothers
I like the first for the subject choice, and the fifth because it looks like a shot from the Band of Brothers, the HBO series I saw a while back. I guess, there are too many, that’s why people don’t know where to start with the comments.
Yeah… a few too many me-thinks.
Yer man in #4 and 5 looks classic 1940s US Army… he fits the whole genre you’re try to capture. Looks fun too.

PS. Yer man in #9 looks a bit like Johnny Knoxville!!

Paul (#4 + #5) is really photogenic in this type of shot I think.
The band of brothers was an excellent show, I’m well pleased that my shots remind someone of it!
A girl on another forum suggested I do a series of WW2 shots and build them into a Project. I think thats a good idea, yes?

This is a really nice set and my favorites are 4, 5, 6 and your final edit.
I agree with the others that although I know people are looking..you’ll get better feedback if you try to break your series’ into threes.

Do those people not know that WW2 ended over 60 years ago?
I like seeing series in a post rather than a single picture per post. If the serie is good, it shows consistency in shooting (with camera that is) and it probably shows some form of visual research which I usually find much more educational than just one (lucky) shot.
These photo’s look all very good. I would have removed the blue plastic in #5 and would definitely not have gone for bw conversions. Did you make them in b/w to make them look older? Photos and movies from that era are usually a lot grainier, less sharp and damaged (scratches, folds, dust on negatives etc.). I think that the the pinsharp registration of light and colour and textures is fantastic and nearly makes it surreal.

AlanNo problem at all setanta, it’s a reminder of why these guys do what they do.
To remind the public of what the men + women of ww2 suffered in order to protect our freedom.
Up until recently I was a regular re-enacter, but now prefer life behind the camera instead of in front of it.
These guys are the club I used to belong to, The Wartime History Living Association (http://www.wartimeliving.co.uk)
As for the B+W conversions, I generally dont like them either, but they help hide a multitude of photographic sins, such as blown skies :)
