And just because I don’t have enough cameras, I decided to buy an Olympus XA2.
Tiny little camera, perfect to carry around in my pocket. Cheap to at only around €20 inc p+p from the UK.

    So there you go :)

No I didn’t get one with a flash as I’ll use it outside with available light mostly.

I have some digital cameras also, Nikon D200, Canon S90 (pocket digital) for example. Its what I pretty much started with.
However, I enjoy using film (b+w in holga, leica, bronica etc…), the look and feel of film and indeed the process of taking a shot and hoping when later developed finding that I got what I was looking for (I might get more successful over time on that one :) ).

Being colour-blind also means that I’m not seeing colour photographs or scenes like most (would not see colour cast) so I tend to lean towards
converting colour digital photos to b+w. If I’m shooting for b+w mostly, then for me shooting with b+w film makes sense.
Why try and make a colour photo look like a b+w image, when I can just shoot in b+w from the start.

Other reasons for starting to use film was that I felt that I had somehow missed out on a way of making/taking photographs, also I wanted
to do my little bit to try and keep film photography alive. Every roll of film helps :)

I do still shoot alot of digital tbh :) Its not one or the other, its whatever suits.

I have one Mark, don’t use it much however the lens is top class, you could get a 20*16 print from it ,no bother. The later models were not as good.

Smashing little camera Mark, bought one for the parents to re-ignite their photographic enthusiasm after being left cold after switching over to a digital compact. They don’t seem to have used it, so may re-deploy it for my own uses :)

Great little simple zone focus camera, the minimal of fuss, and really just point and shoot. Quite refreshing really!

Would be interested to see what the lens is like for black and white, if you get around to posting up some of your taken shots.

    Have fun shooting :)

Yep, if I get to take anything half decent, I’ll post up :D
